    PDI Adds Senior Vice President of Sales To Expanding Performance Sales Teams Business Unit


    Saddle River, NJ— (October 20, 2005) PDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: PDII) a diversified sales and marketing services provider to the biopharmaceutical and medical devices and diagnostics industries, announced the hire of Tim Shalbrack as Senior Vice President of Sales, responsible for leading PDI's Performance Teams programs. Shalbrack reports directly to PDI President, Steve Budd.

    Shalbrack will be responsible for the execution of superior sales efforts by PDIs Performance Sales Teams, including support and talent development of the sales management team, working closely with the company's HR and IT centers of excellence to do so. PDI's current Sales Vice Presidents and General Managers report directly to Shalbrack.

    Shalbrack brings to the job over 26 years of pharmaceutical experience, 22 of which were in sales management roles of increasing scope and responsibility. Shalbrack has an MBA from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, WI.
