    PDI New Hires Reflect Commitment to "Best in Class" Talent Recruitment, Development and Management


    Saddle River, NJ— (October 3, 2005) PDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: PDII) a diversified sales and marketing services provider to the biopharmaceutical and medical devices and diagnostics industries, announced two key hires in the Human Resources department reflecting the company's commitment to "best in class" talent recruitment, development and management: Kathy Marsico as Vice President, Human Resources and Suzanne Reilly, Executive Director, Talent Management.

    These new hires are part of an overall restructuring of the Human Resources department spearheaded by Nancy McCarthy, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, to create business partners within HR who support the three major divisions of the company.

    Kathy Marsico will serve as Senior Business Partner to the Sales Services Segment, working closely with Steven K. Budd, President of that division. As a consultant to the Sales Services Segment, Marsico will help to design programs and develop initiatives that will enhance organization capability and create business impact. Key areas of focus are leadership development, field sales productivity, and retention of PDI's more than 2500 sales representatives. Marsico brings a diversified background in sales management and human resources to her position, having spent 23 years of her career with AT&T before taking executive leadership appointments at Harvest Inc., the largest food rescue organization, and then with AFS-USA, the largest international high school exchange organization. Marsico holds an MBA in Marketing from New York University and has attended post-graduate education courses at the University of Illinois and at Williams College.

    Susanne Reilly's role is to establish an enterprise-wide talent management platform to achieve best practices in talent development. She is accountable for the strategy, products and processes to strengthen PDI's organizational and leadership capability. Key on her agenda is the establishment of benchmarks and programs for the development of high performing leaders, identification of top talent, performance management, and continuous learning. Prior to joining PDI, Reilly was a Senior Consultant with Applied Research Corporation, a Human Resources consulting firm with clients in a wide variety of industries, including pharmaceutical. Reilly holds a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology, where she was a four-time Stanley fellow.
