Saddle River, NJ— (October 3, 2005) PDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: PDII) a diversified sales and marketing services provider to the biopharmaceutical and medical devices and diagnostics industries, has announced a reorganization of their Information Technology Group to better serve their expanding operational needs. The group has been structured into two functional units: the Business Solutions and Customer Service Group, headed by JoAnn Saitta, and the Applications and Architecture Group, headed by Mark Betz, both reporting directly to company CEO, Chuck Saldarini.
The Business Solutions and Customer Service Group is an outgrowth of this year's earlier department alignment of resources to support the company's three business units. Saitta was hired in late March to serve as a business unit project director, helping to develop the technology support for new business initiatives and alliances in the planning stages. During her short tenure with PDI, Saitta has formed strong relationships with the Business Unit leaders, as well as PDI's Centers of Excellence. She has drawn upon her strong background in the strategic use of outsourcing in support of several key initiatives including the deployment of sales force automation tools supplied through PDI's strategic alliance with Dendrite, as well as broadband integration for PDI.
As head of the Business Solutions and Customer Service Group, Saitta will be responsible for Engineering, Business Partnering, Project Management, and General Operations. Saitta holds a master's degree in Computer Science and is working on her doctorate in Management of Information Systems.

The Applications & Architecture Group incorporates Business and Corporate Applications Support, including all software, Intranet and web-based applications. As head of the group, Betz brings a strong background in emerging technologies, technology development and systems architecture. He most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Incurrent Corp., a company he founded. His role at PDI is to lead the development of a world-class electronic substructure to support the leading edge sales teams PDI has developed.
